Back Packs for Malawi

A couple of weeks ago we had a Scotland/Malawi day. People came in and talked to us about ways we could help charities like Mary’s Meals and Street Kids. We decided to gather in back packs. They contained things like toothbrushes, tennis ball, towel, t-shirt, pencils, paper, shoes/trainers, toys and good condition clothes you might not need now, books, plastic cups.

Our teacher and Mrs Craig our DHT put out letters and talked to us at assembly/star of the week. We let all the classes know what to bring. Today is collection day. Crosshouse have been collecting too so the van has visited them and then has come here.

We have collected  73 full backpacks. Any extra things we put inside new bags.

Well done P7 for setting up your blog. Tomorrow Mrs Gibson and I will meet with the other P6 and 7 teachers from the other schools and we will help them set up blogs so you can all write about your rich task in all the schools.

I just love the idea of the back packs. I wonder if the South Park pupils might do something like this. It sounds like a lot of fun.
