Now that we have down most of our research we have started putting it all into a book that we will write and illustrate. Most of us are enjoying it though we only it yesterday so the worst is yet to come.
All our books need to have a: front page, contents page, index, glossary, summary, bibiligraphy, headings, sub headings, numbered pages, pictures, diagrams, maps, different prints, tables, fact files, blurb.
And trying to put all of this into 1 book plus our info i think we are gonna struggle.

In the Castle fields rich task we have found lots of information we would like to tell you.African people can send messages to village to village by the use of drums. The the key to understand the drum is the African language itself .Like if all three tones are low it means puddle or marsh, and if it`s low -low -high it means promise but if you change it to low-high-high it becomes poison.
We also found out that the two biggest religious groups in Africa are Christianity and Islam. Many people in Africa mix lots of other religions to Christianity and Islam to soot themselves. In the seventh century Islams came from Aribia and came to Africa.Christianity also came from another country but this religion came in the first century AD.
POPULATION OF AFRICA IN 1998 WAS: 748 . 9 million. People predict that by 2025 the population will be 1.3 billion.
Primary 7 thank all you people who have given us information for our African rich task

Today we are doing notes and researching customs in Africa. Its hard to find out info so if anyone knows of anything which would help us please let us know.
- A tradition in the Congo is you can only pass things with your right or both hands not your left.
- There are 5 languages in the congo – Kikongo Lingala Tshreiluba Kingwana and French . People in the goverment only speak French when doing official business. An official might use French at his meetings and other languages at home or at market.
- In South Africa a lot of customs were stoped during apartheid. You could be jailed for certain customs.
- Apparently most Egyptians don’t need much personal space and will stand close to you to talk! When you start talking with an Egyptian, you draw a crowd, and often the Egyptians will join in!
- Most of the Muslims in Egypt do not drink alcohol but they don’t object to others drinking. In Egypt many people don’t eat pork.
- Many people fast at ramadan in Egypt
- On the underground lines, the first car is usually kept for women, especially elderly ones!
- Egyptians will refuse a first invitation (eg to dinner), which is customary, so you should do the same. The offer might be repeated. If you’re invited into a home, especially in small villages, and have to refuse, the people will often ask for a promise from you to visit in the future, usually for a meal. If you make such a promise, keep it.If you don’t arrive, your friend will feel humiliated. It would be rude to make them feel this way.
- In Africa dances are often used to communicate. dancers use masks, costums, gestures, etc to help communicate
- Myths fables and legends have always been important in Africa.
- There are many, many religions in Africa. Muslim, Christianity and religions special to certain parts of Africa.
- Some burial customs in parts of Africa include tying a bandage round the chin to stop your soul from wandering

We are doing our rich task on Africa. We began on Monday by doing a pre-assessment of what we think we need to work on – this included areas like ICT, language, creativity, independance, group work. The things we said we needed to work on were the same as our teacher would have said about us!
In the afternoon we got into groups and did some brainstorming on mindmaps about what we know and want to know.
Today we started looking at note taking for the non-fiction work we are going to do and did some highlighting and then note-taking in groups of general information on Africa and sports. We worked together a lot better today!
